Mt Mansfield West - July 21, 2009

Guides: Ed and Dick

Hike: We drove to Underhill State Park on the West side of Mt. Mansfield. We hiked up the CCC road to the trail head. We hiked up the Halfway House Trail. Some guest had gone ahead and went to the Long Trail on the ridge. Ed took 2 up to the ridge to find them. I took one on the Canyon North trail to the Canyon Extension trail. Ed brought the rest of the group down to the Canyon Extension. We hiked to the Subway trail. Some went the short way up the Subway others went the long way. We went on the Long Trail to the Chin for lunch. We then went down the Long Trail to Taft lodge. We went down the Long Trail to the bus at RT 108.

Stowe Pinnacle - July 16, 2009

Hike: Drove to the Stowe Pinnacle parking lot. Hiked up the trail to the Pinnacle, eat lunch. Hiked down the trail to the Pinnacle Meadow cutoff and down to the meadow and back to the bus.

Stowe Pinnacle Hike July 2, 2009

Hike: Bus ride to the base of the Stowe Pinnacle Trail. Hike up to the Pinnacle in the rain stopping at the “overview” on the way up. Return almost to the “overview” to eat lunch out of the wind with a light rain. Continued on down to the Stowe Pinnacle Meadow trail and on down to the parking lot. Jay was waiting for us at a little after 2.

Mount Mansfield West June 30, 2009

Hike:
Drove to Underhill State Park. Walked up the CCC road to the trail head. Ed took 8 people up the Sunset Ridge trail I took 4 people up the CCC road to the Half Way House trail to the Canyon trail and Canyon extension to the Subway trail and onto the Long Trail. Ed’s group was ahead of us and had continued to Taft Lodge. We arrived there within minutes of each other. After lunch, we continued north on the Long Trail to Route 108 for pick up.
